Our Student Field Training Program offers an immersive, hands-on experience that allows participants to explore some of Egypt’s most important archaeological and historical sites. Whether you’re an undergraduate looking to deepen your understanding or a graduate student pursuing advanced research, this program provides the perfect blend of fieldwork, research opportunities, and guided learning.
- Site Visits and Practical Experience
Students in the program will visit a variety of historical sites, including the Pyramids of Giza, the Valley of the Kings, Luxor, and more. These visits allow you to:
- Examine artifacts and architecture up close: See and study the monuments, inscriptions, and artifacts that you’ve learned about in the classroom.
- Apply academic knowledge: Use the skills you’ve developed in your studies, such as translating hieroglyphs or analyzing archaeological finds, in a practical setting.
- Gain hands-on experience: Whether you’re interested in excavation techniques, preservation, or historical analysis, this program offers a wide range of practical experiences that prepare you for a career in archaeology or Egyptology.
- Research and Documentation
Research is a key component of the Student Field Training Program. Students will have the opportunity to:
- Conduct field research: Observe and document artifacts, structures, and historical sites, adding real-world context to your academic knowledge.
- Collaborate on group projects: Work with other students on research projects that explore specific historical themes or questions. These projects often lead to presentations, papers, or even further research opportunities.
- Develop critical analysis skills: Learn how to evaluate historical sites and artifacts with a critical eye using the latest research methods and techniques.
